CARYN’S WORLD
I have been working in clay for over 30 years. I work in clay because I love the medium; the way it feels in my hands, and the way I can make so many different kinds of pieces with it. Sometimes I throw on the potter’s wheel, and sometimes I hand-build pots and sometimes I do a combination of both on one piece.
I sculpt, both small and large figures, realistic and abstracted. I work in clay full time, which allows me to explore a variety of ideas and techniques. When I create new pieces, I like to pick a theme and then empty my mind and go into the unknown and see what develops.
